Ping pong ball colour

Why professional tournament always use a white ping pong ball?

Hi Chris,

This is a preference at the moment.  They did use the coloured ball a while ago but now they feel that the white ball is better for television and being able to see in general.

It is still acceptable to use the coloured ball if you prefer.
