Hi Coach ,
I play almost the entire game just with my backhand and am not able to position myself in a way that allows me to use the forehand . That is probably because I've been playing this way for such a long time . How do I go about starting to use my forehand as well , as I want to be a bit more attacking , which is a downside while playing just with your backhand.
Hi Prashant,
I find the first thing is always to get you feet right. You will find that you are either square on to the table or you will have your left foot slightly closer to the table (assuming you are a right hander).
Just try to change this position a little at first. Get your right foot a little closer to the table than your left foot.
The second thing is to position yourself a little more towards your backhand corner so that you are in a better position to use your forehand when the ball comes to the middle area of the table.
I think this will help. Please let me know how it works out.
