Strokes
You know the video "Faster Forehand Topspins", and when I try to copy your technique in the video, I just can't do it. Can you help?
Thanks, Ian.
Hi Ian,
The main thing is to remember the key points of speed of racket and flattening out the contact a little to increase the speed of the ball.
The next thing is to do it often so that your swing becomes smoother without tension. Tension in your arm will mean that the arm will move slower. Decreasing tension will come as you become more comfortable with the swing. Let it happen. Less trying is better in this case.
What angel do you need your bat on to play a forehand? Should you even worry about it?

Hey Adrian,
Our premium members vote on the questions and based on this we film new responses. With regards to the rubber, the basics are the same. If you take a look at our lesson on the forehand topspin and concentrate on the start and finish positions of the stroke you can't go too wrong.

OK, my dad and coach told me that you should finish a bit lower, around nose level. is that okay?

Hi Pingskillers!
My topspin stroke is about the same as showed in this video. But lately I lost form and my strokes fly over the table more often than I would like! My trainer tells me that I should change my FH-Topspin stroke to a stroke where just the lower arm and wrist is involved (trainer referse to Timo Boll's FH technique) instead of using the whole arm and body rotation. What are your thoughts about this way of performing a FH-tospin stroke?
Thx!

Hi Ian,
Executing fast topspin shot requires practice and good reflexes. For faster shots you need to brush the ball from above. Try to target the outline dor neat finish fast shot. After practising faster shots try to return the ball on desired place. This can enhance your attacking skills and your co-responding game.

Siddharth
