Match Strategy
hi coach
i am very glad to join this site
when i was in my last important match "yesterday" i faced a very hard player who can counter every one of my spins but this isn't the problem the problem is that he could control the ball very well. he can reach the ball to a very hard places like the end of my forehand and backhand near to the net so i do a lot of side spins that he counter to the other direction so i can't do an effective shots after that
sorry for my bad English
and thanks for your answers
Hi,
It sounds like you were playing a very good player. To have very good control is a real sign of someone that has played a lot of Table Tennis. In this situation it is more about trying to find ways to play your best and see what you can achieve.
Try some different strategies or try to focus on your own abilities.

Playing better players makes me play awsome better than i normally do. But against players not as good as me i sometimes really struggle. The problem is this against good players you have less time to think about it and have to react quicker. Against lesser players you have oodles and oodels of time.
I myself personally when i have too much time often stuff up easy shots. Too much time to think about it i guess, also quite often a lesser player will go to hit a shot one side of the table but it goes the otherside by accident. Lesser players can be unpredictable and often have wierd styles.
Alois i suppose in your time as a wonderful-champion player you would of come up against, un orthodox players with wierd and strange styles.?

Hi Justin,
I think you get to a level where you can just overpower these players. By continuing to build your strokes and technique you will start to be ale to do this.
When playing against unorthodox players sometimes if you give them less time they won't cope.
