Training
dear coach,
i live in Bangladesh, an Asian country, where table tennis game is not importantly taken.... i have won 2 under fifteen national championships and was the runner up of 1 national championship.... after i won them, i was famous for about 2 weeks and then nobody cared for what i did.... i want to be a table tennis player professionally but i find no chances here. what should i do?...
Hi Shahed,
Firstly, congratulations on your excellent results. Keep working on your game.
In a few years see if you can get an opportunity to play some international events. It will still take a few years of development to get to the level of playing professionally which you can do with hard training in Bangladesh.
Most drills involve one person performing the exercise and the other placing the ball as required by the exercise. We call this person placing the ball the controller. When you are acting as the controller it is a great opportunity to practice your blocking and concentration. As blocking is an important part of the game you should be 100% focused at this time. You also owe it to your training partner to be blocking effectively so they get the most from their exercise.

Perhaps go on a few international training camps first? I know William Henzell trained overseas and still plays for Aus
