Playing with my other hand

Strokes

Hi Coach,

I recently have injured my shoulder very badly and I am not allowed to play until January... But I just want to play, so tonight I tried to play with my left hand, my backhand was pretty decent but my forehand was awkward. And also the switch between back- and forehand was difficult. I think thats because Im only using my arm and not my whole body like with my right hand. Also short touches were difficult especially on the crossover point.

So what advice can you give me to get used to using my body to my left hand?

Thanks in advance,

-Edwin

Hi Edwin,

Just play more with your left hand.  It is probably more due to you being a little stiff and not relaxed.

Good luck with it.

Yeah, that might be true. When Im playing a short push my arm is streched out and very stiff so the spin had a big impact on me. and Im still stepping in with my right foot haha
