Hey Alois, I've been looking at your lessons (which I think are really good by the way!!), and I've realised that when you are showing how to do a specific stroke it seems that you are over exaggerating the shots so that they can be seen easier. However in a game you won't have time to do the stroke because by the time you've done it, it will take longer to get back to the ready position again ready for the next shot.
How do you combat not over exagerating the stroke that you want to execute so that you are ready for the next shot?
Hi Piers,
When we show the basic strokes, they are shown in their full length.
In a game how much of the stroke that you can play is dependent on the amount of time you have. If you have a lot of time you can play a full stroke at full speed, but if you are short of time you can play a smalller stroke. It is important to begin with to get the proper stroke so that you bat is moving coorectly in the right direction. This is easier than trying to do this with a small stroke.
So, in a match situation, play as much of the stroke as time will allow.
