Serving
Hello guys, I hope you're well.
Here's my question: Is there any way to practice how to serve in a place with no tables? Because here in Colombia (specifically the city I live in) there are not so many places where I can find a table tennis table. So I was wondering if there's any chance I can practice at home or something like that and how would I do that?
I apologize if my English is not that good.
Best regards.
Hi Johan,
You can use any table, even a dining room table. You can also just use the floor. The main thing you can work on is the contact on the ball. By watching the reaction on the floor or table you can see how much spin you are getting.
We often get players to start to generate spin when they are away from the table so that they have the freedom to explore and swing.
By watching what the ball does on the floor you can get a guide as to what type of spin you are getting and also how much.
The high toss serve looks spectacular and it gets results. It is particularly suited to the pendulum serve but we encourage you to try it out with all of your serves. Follow these instructions and add the high toss serve to your repertoire.

Well, the thing's that the floor of my house is not so flat, it has tiles, which doesn't allow the ball to move/spin freely and fluently. What shall I do?

That is OK. You can put a towel on the floor or even serve onto your bed. Give it a try.

Ok, I'll give it a try. Thanks Alois <3
