Mental Preparation
Hi guys,
In about 3 weeks I have a massive tournament called the nationals. I am getting in a lot of training plus coaching. But I was wondering if there is other stuff I need to do as well ie psychologically.
Cheers
Matt
Hi Matt,
Training on the table is a good part of preparation. However mental and physical preparation is also important.
You should focus on things like sleep and eating well. With your mental preparation, start to put into place some strategies that you can use to calm yourself in different situations. In a big tournament there will be very few times you will need to pump yourself up, it will be more about calming and relaxing yourself to be able to play your best.
Good luck at the Nationals and let us know how you get on.
