Serving
Hi Jeff/Alois,
How could I achieve pure heavy back spin serve with Pendulum motion and no side spin on it. So as soon as the opponent touches the ball it goes straight into net.
I have seen Pendulum Serve video in the Serving section but when I perform this serve I get backspin but also get side spin with it and one of my opponent just wait for me to do this serve and he just smashes it with blazing power. I like to do a pure backspin serve to him so it goes into net or any advise/suggestion how could i stop him doing this smash to me because if I do short to him he flicks it very decent speed.
So only way I could stop him is to do pure heavy low backspin serve but i am having hard time achieving this
How could I easily achieve pure heavy low backspin serve with the same action so it would deceive him.
Please advise
Thanks
Hi Salman,
The key here is the angle of your racket when you contact the ball.
You need to focus on getting the end of your racket up higher. Often when we do this serve the end of the racket drops lower which means that the angle of the racket is tilted and so you get some sidespin on the ball. If you have your bat parallel to the ground you will get pure backspin.

Thanks Alois for your quick response.. I am still bit confused you mean once you brush it down then rather than going down on follow up move the paddle in the upward direcrion..could you please provide me the links to some videos of yours or Jeff which shows this exact motion in pendulum serve if possible please specify the time in the video which need to be looked at
I think I got it it's just need to see some visual picture of
"You need to focus on getting the end of your racket up higher"
Once again thanks for your help
