Putting weight into your stroke

Strokes

Is it possible to put your weight into a backhand to add more power to it? Or is it better to focus on the wrist to provide all the power?

Additionally, what about the forehand? Is it he same situation there as well? I'm trying hard to work on power lately.

Hi Chris,

A lot of power comes from rotation both with forehand and backhand.

I like this link we showed recently on our Ask the Coach Show to the Karate Kid.  Karate Kid II Drum Scene.  We also talk about it during Show #169.
