Hi, I have a couple of doubts regarding the BH topspin against backspin

1) what should be the racket angle.. should it be flat facing the ground to get maximum brush or fairly open??

2) should you receive a backspin/heavy backspin way below the table level or just below the table height and what is the optimum point of contact for a good topspin..at the peak of the bounce or at the lowest part of the bounce.? I currently use Butterfly Bryce fr BH and DHS Hurricane 3 neo for FH.

Thanks.

Hi Carlshen,

The angle of your bat depends on the amount of backspin on the ball and the speed of your racket.  The more backspin the more you need to open the angle of the bat.

The hitting point can still be high.  You don’t need to let it drop.  The more important thing is to get the ball in a good position in relation to your body.  If the ball is too far in front of you it makes it more difficult to get the lifting action.  Wait till the ball is next to you.

Snake Shot

A snake shot is a type of stroke which is specifically used against a drop shot. It is usually loaded with a heavy spin so that the opponent finds it difficult to counter. The type of spin can be backspin, sidespin or topspin depending on your choice. You need to make a movement after hitting the ball to confuse your opponent.
