Hi alois

Firstly, i love your videos.

Next, my question is that how do you push or flick a heavily spun pedulum or reverse serve. I have the following problems:

1 It is very hard to receive when there is so many spin. I cant flick it because the spin always change the direction and i cant be consistent with it.

2 i tried to change the angle when i push, but i dont know how much spin he puts on it, so sometimes the ball falls to the net

3 When i push the ball, although inconsistently, i cant push it short causing my opponent to attack with topspin.

Thanks.

PS his serves, my dad, are very spinny. Now he is using a not as spinny rubber, he's going to change to a spinnier rubber tin arc 3. I'm doomed. Thanks

Hi Mat,

This is the key to learning how to return serves.  It is difficult to be able to tell how much spin is on the ball.  It is only with a lot of practice and the chance to return a lot of different serves that you will learn the subtle differences.

Just work hard at receiving against many players and in a while it will improve.  As long as you understand the basic principles you will get better fast.
