How to return a heavy sidespin serve in backhand without using backhand top.

Hi Vinay,

The other option is to push or chop the return.  This will however allow your opponent to attack first.

but when i try to chop or push it it goes out of the table

It is important to learn by doing it many times.  By repetitive attempts you will learn slowly what is happening to the ball when it hits your bat and you will be able to adjust.

The backhand push works well for me against a heavy sidespin serve. Also, I push the ball either very short on the table or deep into the end of the table. This has helped me and watching the great Ping Skills videos.
