I have a problem in returning fast tomahawk and reverse tomahawk serves. Could you please help me?
Hi Rodney,
The most important thing with being able to return any serve is to to see it as many times as you can. The more you see it the easier it will become.
Watch the contact of the server. You know they will both have sidespin, one going one way and the other the other direction.
The difficult part is often to tell if they have some backspin or topspin on them as well. See if you can watch the ball and the flight it takes and can recognise any differences with the different spins. The topspin bad will tend to dip quicker whereas the backspin ball will tend to float a little more.
The pendulum and reverse pendulum serves are two of the most commonly used and deceptive serves in table tennis. In this video, we’ll break down the key differences between these serves and discuss strategies for returning them effectively. You’ll learn the basic principles of serve return, including how to read spin, adjust your positioning, and respond confidently to different variations of these tricky serves.
