Hello,
i was wondering what was the best way of returning a long heavy backspin serve to my forehand. I noticed that I am struggling to return these and they often end up in the net. I try and wait for the ball to go lower but that doesn’t make it easier. I don’t seem to have a problem if the serve is shorter and slower. Any suggestions on what else I could try?
many thanks,
Mohamed
Hi Mohamed,
The best stroke to play in this situation to gain the upper hand in the rally is the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin. This will allow you to compensate for the backspin on the ball and make an attacking topspin stroke.
