Returning long serves

Hi guys,

How do return a super fast, long and low serve. It has no spin and is always placed to the Side of the court. It's annoying because it requires little skill and I want to own who ever uses it.

Thanks, I am a long time fan and if you could make a video it would be much easier to master the return.

Hi Matt,

The basic idea is to make sure you move into position and then use a topspin stroke to return it.

We have some video response on the Ask the Coach on this topic.

Take a look at How to return a long sidespin serve.

For Premium members we also have a video on how to return the Flat long serve.

Hi Alois,

The first link was helpfully a bit but, the second link "Flat long serve" would fully answer my question. The only problem is I am not premium member so can't I see it. I think most new players need help like me so it would great if everyone could watch the video because I often vs players using a Flat long serves.

Thanks, Matt

Hi Matt,

For returning fast and long serve you need to develop a perfect posture which is in the video. This thing needs to be accompanied by trying to return the ball as soon as it bounces.

Regards,

Siddharth.
