hey pingskills,

I play with other people in my school and tend to be better than almost all of them, and occasionally, a student from another school comes and plays us. however, he totally destroys us, the best score for me was 3:11 against him. he always serves loopy topspin and sidespin. I can return the top spin, but not the sidespin. help?

Hi David,

To return the sidespin, angle your bat to the side away from where the ball wants to go.

Think about just getting the ball back on the table to start with.  Aim for the middle of the table.  Keep your hands nice and relaxed.

Keep playing against him as many times as possible and you will find it getting easier.
