So i have been looking at the palio tct blade. This blade has carbon on the outside and wood on the inside. With knowing the outside of the blade is hard and the inside is softer wood, would it be better to buy a softer sponge or harder sponge, or even medium. Also the rubber i am looking at is the Donic bluefire.

Another thing that concerns me is how heavily will the new plastic ball effect equipment? I dont wanna spend money on this if I know the ball will change game styles.

Hi Dro,

This is more than I like to think about equipment.  I really don't have much information on this.

However one of our readers will be able to help you.

Hi Dro,

I'm using this blade with Dawei Inspirit Quattro UL (x2) - I bought this from another guy and had to adapt to a new style. This Dawei rubber is fast and "quick-glue" so it makes the combination deadly. Spin is wonderful, control is good (my technique needed a little tuning) and my game is definitely more aggressive.

Have in mind that the combination with fast rubbers is perfect but you will have to work your feet and sometimes I think the rubbers are too fast - maybe you can try something different and let us know.

Cheers

ljubo
