hey alois,

I've had my new bat for less than half a year but already the sides of the rubber are beginning to chip, how can I prevent this?

i often chop meaning I hit the table but I see other players doing this and their bat only gets chipped minimally.

Many thanks

Hi Joe,

Try putting side tape around the edge of your bat.  If you already have side tape try using a thicker tape that goes up the edge of the sponge as well.  This will help to protect the rubber edges.

The type of rubber you are using also effects the type of damage you will get.
