I am very fond of playing spin from all sides and directions, but I would like to increase the effect on the ball without doing anything which will be deemed "illegal".

What kind of rubber will give me the best spin on the ball?

Hi Wim,

Get a rubber with a flat surface but that is grippy.  If you are looking for a good starter rubber then we recommend Yasaka Mark V.

As you improve then try Yasaka Pryde or XIOM Vega Pro.

Thank you for the speedily reply. I do not view myself as a beginner as I have been playing for some time and prefer spin to speed. When the opportunity arises for a smash I will certainly give you some, but I like to mix things up in that I play fast, spin, lob, etc so as for the opponent not to receive any consistency from me.

My problem however, is that the rubber I have now is not creating enough spin. I have a side spin serve (to both sides of the table) which causes many players to miss the return to the sides of the table.

Similarly, if I lob with a lot of top spin, the ball jumps so fast from the table that most of the returns miss my end of the table, etc.

I need an advanced rubber as spin is my greatest weapon which I want to enhance as best possible.
