I am trying to decide what is best for me for a bat.  I had decided on the Tenergy 05 FX for both sides when I read several reviews that said the Xiom Sigma Europe was all around a better rubber.  I was surprised to hear this since I had previously thought that the Tenergy 05 was considered to be the best rubber in general.  Have you used this rubber?  Would you say that it is worth the risk to try this new rubber, or stick with the Tenergy?

Hi Greg,

I haven't tried this rubber so can't really give you a good opinion.

Tenergy 05 is a good rubber but you need to control to be able to be able to play with it.  The top players use it because they have that control.

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.

Tenergy 05 and 05 fx are great rubbers. But you also have to consider cost. If you don't mind shelling out $80 per sheet that's okay otherwise long term it might be better to find a substitute. There are a lot if rubbers out there that will let you play your game. Don't waste your time however lookin for that perfect rubber.

i have experienced sigma, it is a lovely rubber as are all the xiom rubbers. probably not far off the speed and definitely the spin of tenergy. xiom are also rumoured to last much longer than tenergy and be cheaper. i use omega iv and vega, both europe versions. i love them.
