Hi Rhys,

We don't generally give too much advice about rubbers because we believe there is too much focus on equipment rather than technique. However you do need decent equipment to ensure you can generate spin which is crucial in Table Tennis.

If this is your first Table Tennis bat then we have some pre-made bats available which we can recommend.

If you are progressing to a custom made bat then check out our custom bats.

If you just want a rubber then it is hard to go past Mark V or Sriver. For more advanced players who have already developed consistent strokes and want something very fast you could try Yasaka Pryde or even Tenergy 05.

Does anybody else have some suggestions for Rhys?

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
