When we do serve the toss of ball is compulsory or not?

Hi Sudhanshu,
Yes it is compulsory. The ball has to go up at least 16cm.

The server shall then project the ball near vertically upwards, without imparting spin, so that it rises at least 16cm after leaving the palm of the free hand and then falls without touching anything before being struck.

Touching the Table
Are you allowed to touch the table during play? The only thing that isn't allowed to touch the table is your free hand. You leg, elbow, playing hand, and even your bat are allowed to. You are not allowed to move the table however.
