Hello Coach,

I was playing a friend at the club who at times makes a strange noise with his voice (like a grunt that sounds like howling wind) and it is very profound and intense when he executes certain serves. Sometimes I find the noise very distracting. What is the rule about making such noise while contacting the ball on a serve?

Hi Mike,

The rule about making noise isn't really clear.  If it is distracting you can talk to the umpire and let them know.

You aren't allowed to do anything to distract your opponent.
