Hey Alois, John here. When I play table tennis, quite often I will hit the net or miss the table. Do you have any tips on how I can reduce these mistakes. Also I need a better serve.

Many thanks

Hi John,

If you develop good techniques with your strokes you will find they will also become more consistent.  Start by doing all of the strokes slowly and consistently.  As you get the feel for them, you will start to be able to hit the ball a bit faster.

Work through the lessons on our Strokes & Technique page to gain a good understanding of the strokes and the best way to play them.

For a better serve firstly think about experimenting with your swing.  Try to develop some spin by brushing the ball on contact.  Then you can focus on placement and speed.  Serving can take a while.  We also have a section on the site for our Premium members on Serving Secrets which goes through this is great detail.
