Hi Alois,
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the shape of the bat? because I saw some players with square shaped bats

Hi Jerome,
There is no real difference. Often the Japanese penholders use a rectangular racket. Most players now use the rounded shape though. The rectangular blade will be a bit heavier.

And if it is big it is very weak against the short game.
I know one man who plays with a 40centimetres long bat and he rarely misses the ball at the long or middle distance
Much more often he misses the table than the ball.
But if you start to play short,it is devastating for him because he cannot control his wrist due to hte weight of his bat
