Hello i was wondering if the short pimpled rubber controls the opponents spin (like the long pimpled) but it can puts some more spin than the long pimpled? Is the short pimpled a more attacking 'version' which can put more spin and speed but it can not control so much opponents spin?

(if what i think about the short pimpled rub is right) can i put an attacking rubber (spin & speed) on my f/h (where i often attack) and a short pimpled rubber on my b/h (where i seldom attack and i often dont apply topspin just a flat hit or backspin cut on the opponents attacks) also i may swap the f/h rubber with the b/h rubber if i have a good opportunity to attack with b/h or if i want to control the opponent with my f/h.

thank u!

Hi George,

Yes you have got this pretty right.

The short pimple does control the ball better than reverse pimples off flat hitting as the spin doesn't affect it as much as smooth rubber.  Long pimples can be awkard to control the spin somethimes depending on the type of long pimple.

The long pimple rubber tends to reverse the spin but it is not as easy to generate your own spin with it.

If you hit the ball flat on the backhand only then short pimples may be your answer.
