Strokes
Hi Alois,
Is it ok to shuffle quickly from one foot to the other during the rally? (a bit like a tennis player would do before receiving a serve).
I have the impression that it helps me reacting quickly to the left or to the right depending on where the opponent is hitting the ball. It gives me a bit more responsiveness in my movements. Otherwise, when I anticipate on the wrong side, I'm often too late and often miss the ball.
The second thing I like about it is that it also makes me look quite energetic :-)
(ps: of course, I also keep my legs apart and knees bent like in the ready position video, simply adding the shuffling..) Is it ok to do so?
Thanks,
Arnaud

          Hi Arnaud,
Yes this is OK. Some players like to do it to feel like they are ready to move. As long as you are not unbalancing yourself while you are doing it.
Once you've mastered the start and finish position of the forehand topspin, you can start to focus on finer details. In this video we talk about the position of your legs, weight transfer, varying the finish position, incorporating footwork, the use of your wrist, and the angle of your bat for the stroke.
