Hi!

In your videos of sidespin shot how do you execute the shot in which your wrist is upright. What should a right handed player do to generate that spin?

Hi Sourav,

By just having your wrist up you will contact the ball on the inside.  IT is the same for a right handed player.

Just think about hitting the ball on the inside.  This will get the ball curving.  For a right hander, if you drop you wrist it will curve to the left and if you lift your wrist, it will curve to the right.

For those that haven't seen this lesson take a look at Sidespin Forehand Topspin.

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
