how do i counter back a ball that go straight then suddenly turn to left or right ?
Hi Andreas,
If the ball goes to the side it has sidespin. You need to watch the ball in flight carefully to see the changes in direction. Then if the ball moves to the left you need to angle your bat to the left to counter the sidespin that is on the ball and vice versa for the ball spinning to the right.
Experiment with the angles of your bat to get it just right.
When you need to reach that really wide ball the regular shuffle step just won't get you there in time so you need to use the crossover step. This is essentially a running action to get you to the ball as fast as possible.
