Sidespin smash

I have a topspin which i dont hit with a straight wrist but hit it with a wrist bent down which has a sidespin effect on the ball. I find it difficult to hit it with a straight bat and when I connect it correctly, the opponents return it easily. But they find it difficult to return when I hit the sidespin topspin. IS the sidespin topspin good for me??

Hi,

The sidespin topspin can be effective if you are consistent with it.  It is not something I would recommend to anyone because it is difficult to get enough speed doing that stroke but as you have seen when it goes on it is difficult for you ropponent because it is different.

Try also improving your normal smash.  You need to straighten your wrist and hit the ball harder.  Often the bent wrist comes from tension.
