Slow bat vs fast bat dilemna

Hi Alois,

I noticed a strange phenomenon in my game.  I have 2 bats: one of them is a bit slower (Mark V 1.8mm), and the other one is a bit faster (Pryde 2.2mm).

Although I seem to be more consistent and have better strokes during pratice sessions with the slower bat, I get much better results in game situation with the faster bat (but lack of consistency during training with that one). I would have expected to get the better results in competition using the bat I perform best with during training, but the opposite seems to happen.

Is this normal? Should I keep switching between the 2 bats: using the slower bat for training and the faster bat for competition?

Hi Arnaud,

It is really important that you use one bat.  If you are finding you are having better match results with the faster bat then stay with that one.  If you train with it regularly you will be even better.
