Sriver or Mark V rubber

Equipment

I presently use the Mark V rubber with a Mark V blade with the same rubber and sponge on forehand and backhand.  My forehand has developed well with being consistent, powerful with lots of topspin.  My push is still a little weak.  My backhand has not developed as well.  It is about 1/2 as consistent as my forehand and not as powerful.  I was wondering if I need to change the sponge thickness on my backhand side and stay with the Mark V rubber or move to the Sriver rubber which I used to use when I was young and using the Seemiller grip.  If I go to the Sriver rubber, would you recommend using a different rubber or sponge thickness on the backhand.

Hi Mark,

I would just go with a thinner Mark V on the backhand.  Perhaps a 1.5 to 1.7mm will give you more control of the stroke.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
