The best style is the one you enjoy playing.
At the top level most players are attacking players.

Tactics Against a Good Short Pusher
Use a long push or a flick to open up the game against someone who is beating you at the short game. It might not be your favourite way to play but if you are losing the short game you need to mix things up. In the long run you certainly need to improve your own short game.
