Switching Rubber

Dear Alois,
I right now play with a not very fast or spiny rubber. I am considering buying Higher quality rubber. But first I want to know if I am ready to play with faster and spinier rubber. Do you think that I could not be ready to switch rubbers?
ps I have an off- game that is fairly solid.

What bat are you currently using and how old are the rubbers on it?
