Hi Rajan,

It is great to hear that you have a coach and are keen on becoming a better player. Training drills are a fantastic way to improve your Table Tennis. Depending on your style and level of play, you can choose from a wide range of drills.

For beginners, you can begin by just practicing forehand to forehand with your training partner. Try to hit as many balls on the table as you can. However as you are an intermediate player, you can use the forehand to forehand drill as a warm up and then move on to some more advanced drills.

Our DVD Training Secrets Revealed covers a vast array of drills that you can use. For each drill we explain how it will improve your game. Take a look at a sample drill from the DVD that we call the PingSkills drill.

I hope this helps you. Good luck!

Building Block 3: Master Random Drills for Match-Ready Table Tennis

The third building block of table tennis is practising random drills, where you don’t know where the ball will go. This type of training mimics real match conditions, helping you develop faster reactions and better decision-making.

Start with drills where 80% of the balls go to a set position and 20% are random. As you become more comfortable, gradually increase the randomness to challenge yourself further. Incorporating random drills into your training will make your game more dynamic and match-ready.

Here's a great video on helping you improve this building block

Hey, I'm using the pingskills drill as a advanced footwork drill on the one-on-one coaching session that I have!!!.

From personal experience, that drill gets really tiring after a while and it involves incredibly high levels of concetration and focus!!! - I'm not trying to put you off the drill because you need to do it to improve, I'm just saying that the first time that you do it, it is difficult both mentally and physically!!!
