Hi Alois
I used to play tennis several years ago but stopped completely because of onset of tennis elbow. Quite painful but the pain eventually disappeared.
I'm 46 now and about 18 months ago I took up table tennis but I'm starting to develop the same symptoms. I play 3 times a week, about 6 hours in total. I've checked my strokes and they seem fine, in fact I'm often complimented on them.
Do you have any experience/advice on this?
Hi Binder,
I sometimes get the pain after carrying shopping bags or something in that position.
Also sometimes if I have my wrist too tight and the bat lifted I can get some pain in that area.
Others may be able to help out here.

Hi Binder,
I feel your pain! I played competitive table tennis in college and played some years after that I didn't play for a long time other than a few games here and there but for the most part, I wasn't playing. So I went from playing a 30mm to a 40mm ball. I noticed I was swinging harder at the ball. During my best tournament in 2015, I got table tennis elbow! It was painful, I couldn't play for months. I haven't gotten it since. What I did was, I got a faster blade where I could generate the same power while not swinging as hard at it. What happened in the tournament was the fact that my arm would tense up in order to generate more power, this is what eventually lead to table tennis elbow. Using your body more to generate power and having good footwork also helps avoid table tennis elbow. :)
