Equipment
Hi Alois,
I play actual tennis and just recently have seriously gotten into table tennis. So are a bunch of players from my tennis team. I just got a table tennis table and have been practicing nonstop for the past week. The problem is, the paddle I am using is cheap and around 5 dollars so I would like an upgrade. I would like a bat and rubber for around a 50 dollar margin. Before this, I bought a cheap 729 Friendship blade with the RITC 729 rubber and I tried to install it myself. Things did not go well and I ended up gorilla gluing it because it would not stay put with Elmer's glue :(. That obviously destroyed the blade and the rubber so my budget is not so abundant right now. So what should I do? I have been looking at tournaments to go to with my tennis friends but I have to get an ITTF approved rubber and decent paddle by then. I have been practicing nonstop while watching all of your videos and I have really improved my game but I can not put hardly any spin on the ball with by current paddle.
Please respond ASAP
Hi Dylan,
The most important thing is to get a decent rubber. It sounds like you were on the right track the first time. Why don't you do that again but use a proper Table Tennis glue to stick them on?

I don't know where you're located but if you're in the US, a decent beginner/intermediate premade racket can be had for under $20US delivered. Amazon sells the the DHS 4002 racket with the highly regarded DHS Hurricane 3 on one side and G888 on the other. Both rubbers are ITTF approved.

I am about to purchase the same blade with higher quality rubber thanks Alois! I am having megaspin.net construct the bat for me :)
