Hi Alois & Jeff

Is it important to table tennis shoes to say a pair of running shoes?   The question came about, from a little pull at the top of the thigh where getting into a game, it must have been the thud/stamp motion producing a shock effect for the injury.

Ice and rest for normal service to be resumed plus streching before/after play.   Looking at the Pingskills competition the players are wiping their feet at nearly every shot.  Is this mainly nervous energy, that particular floor or sweat producing the need to wipe down.

Love your work

Hi Steve,

It is important to have good grip on your shoes.  The other thing is they need to be fairly light and flexible to move with the foot.  They also can't be too high otherwise it is too easy to twist your ankle if you move sideways.

In the Classic the floor was quite slippery that is why they were wiping their feet often.  It can become a habit during a match as part of their routine.
