Hi coach,

Is there is change in service rules.if yes my understanding is as follows:

1. tennis service is allowed in table tennis( I mean the the bounce is required only at opponents side .

2. The toss is not required.

Hi Kedar,

The ball has to bounce on your side of the table and then your opponent's side.  You can serve to either side of the table in singles.  In doubles you always serve from the right box diagonally.

You have to toss the ball up at least 16cm away from your hand.

You have to hit the ball when it is behind the end line of the table or an extension of that line.

You can have a look at the rules here in the Table Tennis Rules section of the site.

Also in our Free Downloads section you will see the a download for the table tennis rules brochure that you can read or print off and put in your Table Tennis area.

Hi Kedar,

I checked the date on that video and it was April 1st so must have been an April Fools joke. I can confirm those rules definitely won’t be coming in.
