Footwork

My training partner told me that when I am executing a forehand stroke, my body weight should be on my right thigh(I am a right hander), and when I am doing a backhand stroke, my body weight should be on my left thigh(I am a right hander). Is this true? Does this improve my game, balance, and the power of my shots?

Hi Paul,

Your weight can start on those legs but as you play the stroke you can transfer to the other leg .  At the point of impact itis good to have your weight evenly distributed between your legs.
