Hi Alois
I notice sometimes players using wet towels to increase the grip of their shoes in between points. If this really is effective, how come you never see world class players doing this at world championships?

Hi Ji-Soo,
At World Championships the foors are good quality and they always use the same red grippy surface. This means you don't need any water to clean the bottom of your shoes.
Where players do need this is in venues with dirty floors, to clean the dust / dirt of the bottom your shoes. If there is dust between your shoe and the floorboard it will lead to it being slippery.
The wet towel or just wet paper towelling, is effective when the floors are dirty but make sure you are careful because if you get water on the edges of your shoes or if there is too much water, it may be very slippery.
If you are having a problem correcting an error in your technique, then try this great tip. Think about learning a new stroke rather than correcting an old bad habit. The change in thinking will allow you to learn the new stroke without worrying about your old bad habits.
