Hi Alois and Jeff,

Good Morning,

Can you please help me to under stand what is throw angle and Dwell time?

Also I have seen at some sites, rubbers are ranked on basis of Speed, Spin and tackiness. It makes me confuse. Can you please explain what is relation of tackiness and spin? I assume more tackiness means more spinner. And tackiness last longs with age of rubber?

Thanks,

Hi Rajesh,

The throw angle is the angle that the ball spins off the rubber.  Some players like the effect of the high throw, meaning it will spin off more.

The dwell time is how long the ball stays on the rubber.

The tackiness can lead to more spin but it doesn't necessarily mean that the more tackiness the more spin a rubber has.

Ok, So what should I need to consider about tackiness while selecting rubber.

To have more spin what rubber I need to choose? Is thickness of sponge plays any role in spinning factor?

 Thanks,

Rajesh,

Select a rubber with good quality.  The thickness should be 2mm or more for more spin.  We recommend XIOM Vega Pro for a lot of spin.  That is what Jeff and I use.
