Hello,

I have recently joined tt coaching in my area . I am new at this and my age is 19.There are a few of them who have been playing since 5-7 years and show attitude . I don't like it and now i have got a deep feeling that i want to beat them and not only that but at least represent my country.

Do you think I am too late to start off the things or can i manage it with serious practice.

thank you

Hi Idris,

Firstly it is about becoming better all the time.  It will always be difficult to catch up with those players that have been playing since they were 5.  However it is not impossible.  Your level depends a lot on the amount of training you have done but also the focus of your training in that time.

Work hard and report how much you are improving and where you are in a year.  If you maintain your focus and training I guarantee there will be improvement.  I don't know how much but there will be some.

As a guide they talk about players taking 10 years of regular training to become good at a sport.  I think this is a good guide.

look man.... u dont worry... you are the exact age i was a year n a half ago... n u r sayin th same things n askin th same questions i was at that time... not onli that but i kno exactly what u mean by the  seasoned players showin attitude... iv been thru all that... im 20 now gonna be 21 in a few months.. n buddy believe it or not, through determination n hours of practice i can not onli play wit them, but beat them a fair number of times... so much so that now they call me up themselves inviting me to play with them... but wat will be the biggest weakness in your journey is the lack of focus or the fact that u might give up midway... there will be times things will feel hopeless n ul feel u r nowhere near as good as u wanna be... but if u tide over that n give in enough hours u will see the rise in your level n the rising number of ppl u can beat.... just hang in there.... its never too late... ciao...

It took less than one year to go from the worst in my club to the best. Listen to Alois and any good advice that people can give and generally just build up ur own skill.
