Topspin Serve

Sometimes when I watch some high level players serve, they can get topspin on the ball even when having a pendulum like action.

For example like the fourth one in this video:

But isn't pendulum serve a chop serve? How is it possible to put topspin with a chop?

Hi Aphrodite,

The pendulum serve can be used for getting all types of spin.  it is certainly not restricted to backspin.

To generate topspin you hit the ball in the later part of your swing when the bat is starting to move upwards in the last part of the pendulum motion.

Get a copy of Serving Secrets Revealed.  It will show you how to do the topspin version in detail.
