hi...

I am a student and play for my college. My game is based on few chops and then a topspin forehand as soon as i get a chance. This was working for me.  But my problem is that i cant play any shot off the table or even when the ball is close to edge.I am able to play my shots only when the ball is much behind the table. This is affecting my game a lot.I am using a STIGA PRESTIGE bat.Is there some problem with my bat? Please reply...

Hi Amin,

This is a stroke that needs to be practiced.  it is mainly a confidence thing to be able to swing through when the second bounce is close to the end of the table.  make sure you get your body close to the table and not just your hand.  Move your feet closer to the ball.

Practice this by getting your hitting partner to push the ball back just long off the table.  Then keep the Topspin stroke correct, the same as when you are a long way behind the table.

I don't think the bat will have anything to do with the problem.
