Strategy
Hi guys, I'm just wondering if you could give me some tips on preparing for an upcoming tournament that will take place for several hours, some of the things I am thinking about is nutrition before and during, as well as cardio preperation, and on table drills for the week coming up to the tournament.
Thankyou. Matt.
p.s friday funny's was very disappointing last week, it was certainly not up to its usual high standards and I am hoping Jeff will be better prepared for the next one! ;)
Hi Matt,
Take a look at this blog that will answer some of your questions.
What to Expect at a Tournament - Table Tennis Blog
As far as on table drills in the lead up, focus a lot on serve and return of serve as well as 3rd ball attacks. Also focus on your strengths for the lead up and strengthen the things that are going to win you points.
A chopper likes to get back from the table and get into a nice rhythm. If you keep the defender close to the table in the early part of the rally, it's hard for them to transition back into their chopping position. So keep the ball short on your serve and try and catch them unprepared. Watch the video to find out more great tactics to use against a defensive chopper.

Thanks Alois, I found that blog useful, hopefully I will remember everything on the day :)
Don't have to remember everything... but learn from the experience as well. Enjoy the day and let us know how it all goes.
@Matt - I might need some help for Friday Funnies, do you have any good jokes I could use? :)
