Coach, I have been training for the whole summer for a competition. I've learned the loop, flick, better serves and other skills but I failed to train for the final week due to a family outing. At the competition, I lost because I was not able to serve better, loop and it felt like I did not trained at all. How could you explain this?

Hi JM,

A break in routine can throw you out completely.  But don't worry, the training that you have done means that your game has actually improved.  When you get back into training you will still have that skill available to you.

Sometimes in competiiton we don't perform at our best.   This can be due to a lot of factors.  It may not have been due toyour lack of play in the previous week.  It may have been your anxiouness about not having played in the week before or due to tension about playing a competition.

I have the same problem. What I do is do a 3 hour training of polishing your all strokes and mental ability. This will reintroduce you to the things you learned in the past as well as improving them in some way. Follow this training protocol 1 session a week and your on your way to landing the foundation of the foundamentals of table tennis.

I would give out what DVD and training schedule I did but that would be like advertisment of other products which I don't know if Pingskills's approve.
