Do you think there is a limit to how far reading and watching videos can take you? I have put in countless hours of reading up on the many aspects of the game and watching videos to the point where I know more or less what your response will be to a high percentage of the questions that continually get answered by you and Jeff. I Feel like I'm to the point where it comes down to the execution of the knowledge I've gained, rather than just the knowledge itself.

Do you guys think you can get to a point where all of the knowledge in the world isn't the answer to your further progression?

Where just more hours on the table with players better than you, or time with a coach is what you need?

Hi Dakota,

Absolutely.  We always encourage players to get out on the table as the most important thing.

Lobbing Tactics

If you get pushed back from the table don't just give up the point. Try and and get back into the rally. By lobbing the ball high and deep you give yourself time to get into position. If you can then get some topspin on the ball to force the smasher further away from the table then you are likely to get a weaker smash and then you can take your chance and try to counter attack!

Hi Huzaifa,

It is sometimes difficult to judge your own progress.  Make sure you are training with focus and doing some drills.  Design a training program for yourself where you structure your session.  We have help on this in our Training Plan document and also with our Training Drills download.  Use these two things to set up your own training session.
